About Mike Shimkonis

- After growing up surfing in Florida, Mike Shimkonis decided to give higher ground a try. Settling in Colorado in 1987, he lived in Vail before migrating to Telluride 18 years ago. Prior to working with Telluride Properties, he was a senior sales and marketing executive for the Vail and Telluride ski companies. Mike has brokered nearly $150 million in real estate sales and participates in various community organizations. He orchestrated a complicated transaction transforming 10 acres of developable mining claims into open space. Mike also served on the board of the Telluride Association of Realtors, was on its Professional Standards committee, and acted as the driving force behind formulating the association’s First Time Homebuyer’s Fund.
